Peggy Tanner started in Paso Finos with her first purchase of a pleasure gelding, Montezuma de Calidad in May 1995. When she could not find a barn for her growing herd, she designed, built and ran Paradise Farm, which opened in 1998. She has been an active supporter of the breed at her facility where she bred and boarded horses and offered clinics for over 22 years. She has attended every National show since 1995 and has had active competitors in pleasure, performance, fino divisions and selected specialty classes. Her horses are now located outside of Tallahassee Florida. Peggy has been active on the PFHA Board since 2007 and has served as Treasurer for two terms. She is also a Life Member of PFHA and is also President of the High Plains Paso Fino Region.
In her non-horse life, she and her brother and sister are the owners of McElroy Manufacturing, Inc., an almost 70 year old company located in Tulsa. The company started in their parent’s garage in 1954 and remains a privately held, second generation, family business with 350 employees and locations in the United Kingdom, Chile, Australia, and India. Today McElroy equipment is available in over 50 countries. McElroy is a quiet force who happens to be the worldwide leader in the industries it serves.
McElroy was first known for machines that applied fins on tubes for the air-cooled heat exchanger industry. McElroy is now best known for the machines that are used for the fusion welding of thermoplastic pipes used in municipal, industrial, energy, mechanical and plumbing infrastructure applications, ranging from ½” to 79” in diameter. While you may not have heard of McElroy, its equipment makes our lives better, safer, and more environmentally sustainable.
